    Welcome to our September edition of Newsplash - a monthly round-up of all things Urban Splash, featuring new homes, scheme launches, commercial news and much more.

    This month, we reveal the next phase of homes at Port Loop in Birmingham - Brick House, designed by Glenn Howells Architects and there's breaking news from Park Hill, where planning has been granted for a new art space as part of phase 4. Down south, we're gearing up to open our new homes at Copper Building in South Bristol to the public and in Plymouth, Royal William Yard has been named as one of Lonely Planet's top UK attractions. Our commercial team have bene busy keeping our tenants in shape with our new series of fitness classes, while also letting over 9,000 sq ft of award-winning workspace across our portfolio.     Unveiling Brick House at Port Loop in Birmingham

    We’re launching more new homes for sale at Birmingham’s newest neighbourhood - Port Loop - on 21 September. Our waterside mews houses have been designed by Birmingham architect Glenn Howells (more on him below) and there’ll be three and four-bedroom homes in a mix of two and three storey designs available. Each home also has access to a shared garden and there’s Help to Buy available too; let us tell you more.

    Meet the team behind Brick House: Glenn Howells Architects

    We’ve collaborated with Birmingham architects Glenn Howells to design Brick House at Port Loop; Glenn’s team designed Timber Wharf, our head office in Manchester, and helped us transform the Rotunda building. Now, he’s helped us create Brick House, combining traditional Georgian design features with modern finishes, with a brick façade reflecting the heritage of the local area.

    Planning approved for S1 Artspace at Park Hill

    Our £100m investment into Park Hill in Sheffield continues with the news that planning has been granted for S1 Artspace’s Park Hill Art Space. Designed by award-winning architects Carmody Groke, the plans will build on S1’s existing gallery at Park Hill, providing a world class destination for arts, culture and heritage. We’re also on site with phase 2, which will comprise 200 homes as well as more workspace, and phase 3 which will comprise 74 unique townhouse style units to accommodate 356 new student residents.

    A first look at Copper Building, Lakeshore

    In just a few weeks’ time we’ll complete our work at the Copper Building in South Bristol. The bronze-clad structure features 136 homes, each of them offering open plan living spaces, lots of light - thanks to floor-to-ceiling south facing windows in the lounge area – while penthouses on the upper floors offer duplex living. Next month, we’ll be opening the building and giving you a chance to look around the final homes on sale; register now to find out more.

    Lonely Planet has included our Royal William Yard in Plymouth in The Ultimate United Kingdom Travel List. The book celebrates the Yard’s cafes, restaurants and bakeries – as well as the Royal William Yard passenger ferry. It’s ranked alongside other major attractions including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Hadrian’s Wall and the Giant’s Causeway. Events like our Weekend of Wonders - pictured above and hosted last weekend - are one of the many reasons for the Yard’s inclusion in the book.

    Keeping fit at Beehive Mill in Manchester

    We like to give our commercial tenants more than just bricks and mortar, that’s why we’re always looking to collaborate with great people who can bring added value to our workspaces. This month, that’s culminated in a new partnership with TRIBE.MCR who’ve been keeping us and our tenants on our toes with a series of fitness classes at Beehive Mill and Timber Wharf. We’ve also launched yoga classes at Ropewalks in Liverpool too.

    We've let 9,000 sq ft of workspace this month

    Last month we completed deals on more than 9,000 sq ft of commercial space across the country. At Royal William Yard in Plymouth, Atelier Build and Samworth Brothers have taken space, while in Manchester, we’ve let 2,355 sq ft to signage company Scan-Stick who have moved to City Court.
