Urban Splash Newsplash - September 2026

        03 September 2026
A 5 minute read by Tom Bloxham CBE MBE

Welcome to our September 2026 edition of the Newsplash – a round up of all things Urban Splash.

For more than 33 years, we've been working with brilliant partners to create places where people can live, work and play.

This month's Newsplash looks at some pivotal milestones in those partnerships – from a limited edition drop of new homes at Park Hill in Sheffield, where we and Places for People have already created hundreds of homes, workspaces, green spaces and a new community, to planning news in Swansea, a first birthday for Cyan Lines in Manchester, and a bumper summer of events at Royal William Yard in Plymouth.

        Read on for the details...

Limited homes at Park Hill drop 12 September

Limited Edition homes drop at Park Hill on 12 September

Our first drop of limited edition homes at Park Hill lands on Saturday 12 September! The whole fourth phase features 125 new homes, each with raw concrete character, duplex living and incredible views across Sheffield. The first of them will drop next week with prices from £187,500. It’s the culmination of a 13-year partnership between Urban Splash and Places for People – with this release marking a new high in our collaboration.

Plans for the Civic Centre in Swansea

Swansea plans take shape as another strong partnership moves forward

Park Hill isn't the only long-term partnership powering ahead this summer. In Swansea, we're working with the Council across seven sites in the city and there's big news on two of them. First, we submitted a detailed planning application for the repurposing of Swansea's Civic Centre. And we and our partners Lovell hosted a consultation to show plans for a new riverside neighbourhood in St Thomas, delivering 124 new homes including 50% affordable housing.

Our chair and co-founder Tom Bloxham CBE MBE at the launch of CyanLines

A year on from a launch with Andy Burnham: CyanLines turns 1

Happy first birthday to CyanLines, the initiative co-founded by our Chairman Tom Bloxham MBE, which aims to connect Greater Manchester's blue and green spaces into a high-quality network of walking, wheeling and cycling routes. The vision launched at an event last September with the now Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, with an anniversary event to be held on 8th September. Speakers include The National Trust, the NHS, the Canal & River Trust and more.
