Tom Bloxham CBE in 2025 King’s Birthday Honours
Our Chairman and Co-Founder Tom Bloxham has been awarded a CBE in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours for ‘Services to Culture and MIF Factory International’. Already recognised with an MBE in 1999 for his work with Urban Splash for ‘Services to Architecture and Regeneration’, this latest honour celebrates his continued pro bono support of a huge number of charities.

Crossed Wires heads to Cole Brothers in Sheffield
We’re excited to welcome Crossed Wires festival to Cole Brothers this July for three days of free, live podcast recordings as part of Sheffield’s Crossed Wires festival. Sponsored by BBC Sounds, the event will take place in the former John Lewis store – now Cole Brothers – which we’re transforming into a vibrant new city space.

More than 41,000 sq ft of Commercial deals
This month, we’ve successfully completed deals on 41,185 sq ft of commercial space, with over two-thirds being renewals from existing tenants. On Merseyside, Global Beauty Products and the North West Air Ambulance Charity renewed their leases at Matchworks. Renewals were also secured at Boat Shed in Salford Quays and at Royal William Yard in Plymouth, where longstanding tenant Ward Williams extended their stay.

A £50m deal for the Urban Splash Residential Fund
Great news from our colleagues at the Urban Splash Residential Fund and its investment adviser SURE Capital Partners LLP who’ve secured a £50m deal with Barclays. The funding will help grow their portfolio of quality rental homes across UK cities. Barclays’ Jason Constable says he’s “delighted” to back the fund’s ambitions.

Judges unveil this year’s Davidson Prize
Congratulations to the winners of this year’s Davidson Prize. Our Co-Founder, Jonathan Falkingham MBE served as a judge for the prestigious award, which champions bold ideas in residential architecture. This year’s winning concept, 300 homes on Plymouth’s Union Street, offers a visionary approach to future living. Well done to all the shortlisted teams.

“The type of destination we want to invest in”
We’ve secured a £16.2m refinancing deal with The Co-operative Bank for Royal William Yard – marking 200 years of this historic Plymouth landmark. In this new piece, the bank’s Corporate Banking Manager Jordan Lazenbury shares more on our partnership and what the deal means for local communities.

Great people, great ideas, and great opportunities
A host of Urban Splash colleagues were in Leeds last month for UKREiiF. The team not only attended, but spoke at various events too, helping shape the discourse around new homes and communities. Our colleague and director Simon Gawthorpe rounds up the highlights here.
