    Mills Bakery

    Plymouth

    Stunning inside and out

Mills Bakery is a Grade I Listed building where 19th-century features meet contemporary design, blending a timeless neo-classical exterior with a striking interior redevelopment.

The building overlooks the Marina, with ground-floor bars and restaurants offering the perfect spot to watch the Yard come alive on a sunny afternoon. Above, a contemporary three-storey glazed atrium houses offices and galleries, creating flexible spaces for modern businesses.

The upper floors feature 86 RIBA award-winning apartments, including micro apartments for compact, modern living, bay apartments that combine character with contemporary comforts, and corner apartments with spectacular views across the Marina.

At the heart of Royal William Yard, Mills Bakery sits in a vibrant, bustling neighbourhood where thousands live, work and play. The Yard is home to beautiful historic buildings, stunning waterfront views, restaurants, galleries, leisure facilities, and a packed calendar of events - from craft and food markets to pop-up arts performances, street entertainers, and weekly yoga and fitness classes on the lawn.

In recognition of its redevelopment, Mills Bakery was awarded the Architecture Today Test of Time Award in the Mixed Use category, with judges describing it as ‘regeneration at its finest’.
