Based in Speke, South Liverpool, Matchworks was once home to Bryant and May’s flagship match factory. Today, it’s brimming with brilliantly designed workspaces, studios and light industrial units.

Whether you’re based at Matchworks, thinking about moving your business here, or simply looking for a vibrant place to exercise, train or unwind in South Liverpool, there’s something for everyone. From fully-equipped gyms to boutique studios and climbing walls, here’s our roundup of the fitness facilities on site at Matchworks.

    Trident Gyms at Matchworks

    Trident Gyms

Trident Gyms has brought its award-winning approach to fitness to Matchbox at the Matchworks estate, combining 24/7 access with a modern, fully-equipped training environment.

The gym features dedicated floors for weights, plate-loaded machines, cardio, and functional training, alongside a sauna and cryotherapy chamber, ensuring members have everything they need to train, recover, and stay motivated under one roof.

More than just a gym, Trident is a community hub, fostering connection and support among its members, creating a vibrant space for both locals and Matchworks customers alike.

    The Climbing Hangar at Matchworks

    The Climbing Hangar

One of the fastest growing indoor climbing brands in the UK, The Climbing Hangar arrived at Matchworks in 2020 and continues to reach new heights. More than just a gym, the space brings the climbing community in and around Liverpool together.

The Climbing Hangar aims to make indoor climbing accessible to as many people as possible, so they regularly hold climbing events, socials and classes for anyone who’d like to get stuck in. More recently, Bold Street Coffee has joined forces with The Climbing Hangar at Matchworks to open its first café in South Liverpool.

Here, you can grab a post-session drink or bite to eat, whether you’ve been climbing, lifting or unwinding at any of our fantastic spaces at Matchworks.
