By 2003, we’d completed the sensitive restoration, creating a space filled with contemporary offices from 620 sq ft, each of them packed with stunning original features. A RIBA Award followed that year and was testament to our efforts – celebrating the fusion of modern design and Victorian architecture.

Now, the communities surrounding Waulk Mill have become exciting commercial areas; in Ancoats, just waulk-ing distance from the building’s front door you’ll find an array of awesome bars and eateries – places like Sugo and Rudy’s – you’ll also find “Manchester’s most promising area”** with its own park, marina and the tasty treats at Pollen Bakery.

Time Out magazine noted that ‘Manchester’s very best places to eat and drink fill the ground floors’ here, and for 2022, we’ve got a rare opportunity for a buzzing F&B operator to add themselves to the local mix…

This new ground floor space offers direct access via Bengal Street, and will become the hub of the building, serving great coffees, drinks and refreshments to businesses based here – and the wider community.
