    Swansea

    City on the Beach

City on the Beach is our boast for Swansea, a city with something unique to offer, with the great outdoors on your doorstep. Time on the water and by the water. Big skies and mountaintop views. Sand between your toes and lunchbreaks on the beach.

It is shorthand for a liveable city model. Where quality of life, health and wellbeing, fairness and shared prosperity define what makes the City a great place to live, to work and do business and to visit and enjoy.

    The Strategic Sites

Our 20 year partnership agreement with Swansea City Council starts with seven strategic sites. Each site is delivered in partnership and together these add up to a wider unifying narrative for Swansea.

Let’s introduce you to the first three:

    Swansea City Waterfront

    City Waterfront

A world class destination and a new waterfront district for Swansea, where the city meets the beach.

A brand new waterfront destination for residents and visitors to gather, relax and enjoy the stunning sweep of Swansea Bay. Sitting at the end of the newly created Ffordd I’r Môr (“Route to the Sea”) connecting the city centre and Arena directly to the beach, the reinvented and repurposed Civic Centre building will form the centrepiece of a new district buzzing with places to eat, drink and entertain including 150,000 sq ft commercial and up to 600 homes. New cafes, bars and shops will line the ground floors spilling out onto the front, with apartments, workspace, aquarium, hotel and events space all part of the mix too. A unique place where the city truly meets the beach.

    Swansea Hafod Copperworks

    Hafod Copperworks

A heritage and active leisure led destination at the heart of a mixed-use riverside neighbourhood.

Swansea Council and Urban Splash are developing a new strategic spatial framework and development vision for this beautiful historic site on the banks of the River Tawe close to Swansea.com stadium and Morfa Retail Park The plan sets out a range of development plots and opportunities for a wide range of flexible uses and occupiers – commercial and residential – to complement the multi-million pounds of public and private investment already going into the site. Major Levelling Up funding is bringing new life to the existing heritage buildings alongside exciting new world-leading leisure attractions including the recently opened Penderyn Distillery and Visitor Centre. A blend of old and new, action and relaxation, local and international.

    Swansea Central

    Swansea Central

A modern office and learning campus. At the heart of a vibrant city centre. Minutes from the beach.

Designed by leading UK architects, Swansea Central brings 300,000 sq/ft of new Grade A office and mixed-use commercial space right into the heart of Swansea in a series of distinctive buildings clustered round tranquil new green space overlooking a historic city-centre church. Education institutions and space for creative makers also form part of the mix alongside cafes and restaurants lining the route to the Swansea Arena. All within a five-minute stroll from the beach. New generation workspace for ambitious businesses large and small.
