Julian joined Urban Splash 20 years ago as Finance Director, overseeing the group’s financial operations and securing substantial and diverse funding facilities with both banks and public sector institutions to deliver complex regeneration projects across the UK. In 2022, Julian took up the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Working closely with public and private sector partners, he has a detailed oversight of all aspects of the business. He steered the business through the recession, leading the stabilisation and turnaround of the group’s finances, and in 2013 spearheaded the significant and complex restructuring of Urban Splash, which involved the refinancing of more than £250 million of debt. More recently, Julian and his team have completed major funding agreements, including a £16.2 million deal with The Co-operative Bank in 2025.

Before joining Urban Splash in 2005, Julian worked in accountancy as a Director at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte, advising some of the UK’s largest private and listed companies.

Alongside his executive role, Julian is a long-standing member of the NSPCC Advocate Network, a Trustee of Inner City Music and a mentor, donating his time to causes close to his heart.

Originally from Cheshire, he is a graduate of Bristol University, a qualified Chartered Accountant, and lives in Manchester with his wife.
