One month’s rent free in Tameside

    27 April 2009

Award winning regeneration company Urban Splash has announced it is offering one month’s free rent to customer’s signing up for an apartment at its Longlands Mill development in Stalybridge.

The company is hosting an open day on Thursday 30th April from 12pm to 8.30pm at which it will be opening the doors of its residential apartments and commercial space. Customers signing up for apartments on the day will enjoy their first month rent free; and there will be drinks and nibbles throughout.

The stunning waterside scheme, which is flanked by the Ashton Canal, comprises 44 one and two bedroom apartments and commercial space. Many original features of the 150 year old building, such as the windows, beams and brickwork remain in place, but have been fused with contemporary design features, giving residents a home with a difference.

Urban Splash managing director Richard Oakes said: “Longlands Mill is a superb scheme. The apartments are really impressive and offer a great location and amenities. Although its encouraging to still see demand for apartments here we understand that the financial situations of our customers right now means renting a home is the most viable option and that’s why we’re offering these new apartments this way. We’re sure that the first month’s free rent will help too!

“As well as offering homes for rent, we’ve also been looking at other ways of helping our customers in Greater Manchester in the current climate. At Sylvia, part of our 3 Towers scheme on the City Centre fringe, and Chimney Pot Park, a terraced housing scheme in Salford, we are offering homes under the Government’s First Time Buyer Initiative. The initiative allows buyers to purchase a 50% share of their home with the remaining percentage repayable to the Government after three years, giving them the support to get onto the ladder now without compromising their situation.”

Local businesses looking for a new office, retail or leisure premises are also being encouraged to take a trip to Longlands on the day as new ground floor commercial space will be open for viewing. The units are shells, meaning that occupiers can dictate the layout and enjoy ultimate flexibility.

Lynn Haime, associate director at Urban Splash added: “The space available at this scheme is ideal for either a local business looking for prominent, new office space or independent restaurant or retail operators who will benefit from a central location as well as the footfall of the existing community within the Mill.”

Prices for homes at Longlands start from just £550 pcm or just £11 per sq ft for commercial space. Occupiers benefit from a central location, including a two minute walk to Stalybridge train station which connects to Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds.
