Urban Splash launches House at Irwell Riverside

    06 May 2016

Award winning regeneration company Urban Splash will launch its new development at Irwell Riverside in Salford on Saturday 7th May, bringing to the market 72 waterfront hoUSes and100 Mansion hoUSe apartments.

The first phase released for sale will be hoUSe, the Urban Splash modular family housing concept which sold out at New Islington before the show house opened. Each of Irwell Riverside’s 72 hoUSes can be configured by the customer who can either choose a 1,000 sq ft home over two floors, or a 1,500 sq ft home over three floors. All hoUSes come with parking and a garden with prices from £250,000.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Urban Splash director of residential sales Guy Ackernley said: “We are delighted to be releasing more great homes for sale and offering a viable urban family housing option in Manchester city centre.”

Irwell Riverside is a waterfront site just off Trinity Way in Salford. Its proximity to Manchester city centre means that the city’s attractions are within reach, with Harvey Nichols less than half a mile away. It is the second site on which Urban Splash has developed hoUSe; all 43 of the properties at New Islington sold out off plan.

Explaining why sites such as Irwell Riverside and New Islington are key to the Urban Splash development strategy, Guy continued: “Historically, there has been a distinct lack of diversity in residential stock in and around the city; many people who live in city centre apartments have to move to the suburbs when they want more space or want to start a family.

“With sites such as Irwell Riverside and New Islington, we’re giving families a spacious living option, which allows them to buy their own, bespoke, architect-designed home without compromising on an urban lifestyle. There’s so much development in this area that it’s going to be an exciting place to live.”

Irwell Riverside is Urban Splash’s second venture in Salford following its development of the Chimney Pot Park ‘upside-down’ terraced house concept eight years ago: “The award-winning ‘upside-down’ house concept was very well received,” continued Guy. “It was unconventional so provoked curiosity from buyers who then invested in their droves into a well-designed and unique concept. hoUSe is doing the same and we hope these new hoUSes at Irwell Riverside will give more customers a fantastically-designed home in a great location.”

Later this year Urban Splash will also launch for sale 100 ‘Mansion hoUSe’ apartments at Irwell Riverside, Guy concluded: “Our sights are also set on diversifying Manchester and Salford’s apartment offering – something we hope to do when we launch those units in a few months’ time.”

Coinciding with the launch of hoUSe at Irwell Riverside, a brand new show hoUSe is being opened at nearby New Islington allowing buyers to see the product in situ. The show hoUSe launch will dovetail with the broader Irwell Riverside launch and doors will be open from Saturday 7th May.
