Living the high life in Bristol. New penthouse apartments launch at Copper Building

    28 February 2019

A range of brand new, duplex penthouses have hit the market in South Bristol, as joint venture partners Urban Splash and Places for People unveil the final homes on sale at the Copper Building at Lakeshore – which will be launched at an event on Saturday 23rd March.

To mark the launch of the homes, the joint venture partners have also released a series of new images showing for the first time, what the interiors will look like. The images are taken from a brand new augmented reality experience, whereby customers can head to the sales office for a virtual tour of the penthouses, demonstrated through new AR technology.

Each of the two-bedroom homes offers dual aspect views, with balconies offering far reaching vistas over the site’s lake and 10 acres of private green space – as well as up to 947 sq ft of living space over two floors.

Situated on the site of the former offices of Imperial Tobacco, adjacent to the completed Grade II Listed, iconic Lakeshore building – the structure of which was formerly the tobacco company’s offices – the homes will complete in the summer. Sales director Guy Ackernley explained: “These are the final available homes in the Copper Building – the last piece of the jigsaw at Lakeshore.

“We are delighted to be able to bring them to the market; we’ve saved the best until last here with some fantastic, spacious homes, with excellent design features and the area’s best views. And by investing in the augmented reality technology, we can show buyers now just what they’re buying into – helping them visualise their future home.”

The penthouses have been designed by Bristol-based architects Ferguson Mann, the practice responsible for designing the entire Lakeshore scheme. Their designs include a south-facing balcony in each penthouse home – spanning the full width of the apartment – as well as a large open plan living space, with floor to ceiling glazing throughout, as well high spec fittings in kitchens and en-suite bathrooms. Designer Nick Brown added: “We’ve evolved this site – once a workplace for local people – remaking it in its original spirit: beautiful design, exquisitely crafted in a properly luscious landscape. We can’t wait for these homes to complete and show the finished Copper Building to Bristol.”

In addition to the penthouses, the seven-storey Copper Building also offers one and two bed apartments for modern day living with prices starting at just £150,000. Help to Buy is available on all of the homes at the scheme, meaning customers can purchase a one bedroom property with just a £7,500 deposit, and a penthouse with just £15,000 down. Concluded Guy: “Help to Buy is a great programme which has helped so many buyers across the country; the low deposit requirements make even a penthouse, 10 acres of gardens, and a lake even more attainable.”

All beautifully designed and located on the edge of Bristol, the brand new homes are nestled within vast green space which was originally designed to give the Imperial Tobacco factory workers somewhere to relax and lunch. Today, the landscape is a place for Lakeshore locals to make their own with an orchard, willow glade, a jogging route, and allotments. Additionally, the site benefits from easy transport access – be that via foot, bike, bus, train or car.
