    The role

    Urban Splash are looking for a Senior Site Manager to deliver our varied portfolio of projects throughout the UK. We are currently operating on sites in Manchester, Salford, Bradford, Sheffield, North Shields, Birmingham, Milton Keynes and Plymouth, and we have a pipeline of 2,800 new homes and 3.5M sq ft.

    Responsibilities

    — Assist the Construction Manager with pre-start details

    — Assist with the preparation of the Health and Safety file

    — Maintain and update Construction Phase Health & Safety plan as works proceed

    — Liaison with the Client/Project Team

    — Management of site housekeeping, discipline, behaviour etc.

    — Awareness at all times of possible commercial opportunities

    — Co-ordinate sub-contractors as appropriate

    — Preparation of site progress reports

    — Safe storage and co-ordination of materials

    — Provide accurate / timely completion of all site-based documentation

    — Attendance at meetings as and when required

    — To mentor and train Assistant Site Managers and junior members of staff

    — To ensure, along with the Resident Liaison Officer, all relevant resident and public complaints are resolved efficiently

    — Prepare and report against Master Programme

    — Management and Implementation of Company Health & Safety procedures / initiatives, including:
    • Use of PPE
    • Site Inductions
    • Management of Method Statements/Risk Assessments
    • Identify training needs
    • Work Permits
    • Scaffold/Lifting equipment inspections
    • In house audits / inspections
    • Site house keeping

    — Adherence to the Company QA:
    • Management of defects
    • Compliance with specification
    • Compliance with materials / QA Documents
    • Subcontractor code of conduct
    • Considerate Constructors Scheme

    — Coordination / Leadership of the site team, inclusive of:
    • Assist with the preparation of the Health and Safety file
    • Management of site housekeeping, discipline, behaviour etc
    • To be aware at all times of possible commercial opportunities
    • To ensure all relevant resident and public complaints are resolved quickly & efficiently • Any other reasonable management request

    Experience

    — Previous Site management experience in both New Build and Refurbishment

    — Residential background

    — Proven track record of Site Management on contracts over £5 million

    — Ability to deliver numerous properties at any one time

    — Passion to drive a project for both financial gain and betterment on programme

    — Record performance and track progress of site operatives and sub-contractors

    — Plan the daily resourcing and control of site labour site and materials

    — Financial and commercial awareness

    — Current and Valid UK driving licence

    — Good verbal and written communicator

    — Ability to work both alone and as part of a team

    — Ability to motivate staff and sub-contractors

    — Working within diverse groups

    — Leadership skills
