    Health & Safety Manager

    The role

    House by Urban Splash is a new kind of modern housebuilder. We do things differently. We make beautiful, configurable, design-led homes, where space and natural light are a priority. We work with some of the best architects in the country and use sustainable Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) to create distinctive new neighbourhoods built around character, green spaces and a sense of community.

    We are currently recruiting a Health & Safety Manager to be responsible for all SHEQ requirements on the House sites across the portfolio. You will ensure the day to day management of Health and Safety working in close collaboration with the operational team to ensure legal compliance, completing on site tasks relating to audit actions, on site day to day management of a varied list of items, all in an accurate and timely manner.

    Key responsibilities

    — Management of reactive day to day Health and Safety activities on site

    — Reporting of Health and Safety Accidents, incidents and near misses

    — Completion of actions from Audits, proactive improvements and review of recent accidents

    — Communicate updates and work with the team to drive continuous improvement

    — Ensure that all works are performed in accordance with the requirement of Health & Safety and other relevant legislation in addition to USM Systems Risk Assessments and Procedures

    — Ensure that all relevant documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner

    — To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities to respond positively to new and alternatives systems of work

    — Highlight any improvements to the relevant Supervisor/Manager through the correct channels.

    — To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function.

    — Any other additional duties and project management that may be deemed as necessary to fulfil the role.

    Qualifications and Experience

    — Essential to have worked in a live construction environment

    — Desirable to be trained to IOSH managing safely and/or NEBOSH general cert standards but not essential

    — Presentation skills and computer literate (Word, Excel, etc).

    — Energetic, enthusiastic and proactive.

    — Essential ability in organisation and project management skills, able to prioritise.

    — Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal, presentation, influencing and negotiation skills.

    — Have a good methodical approach to work and well organised.

    — Communication and negotiation skills.
