Planes, trains and automobiles; getting around in South Bristol

    22 August 2018
A 3 minute read by Guy Ackernley

In just a few weeks we’re launching 136 brand new apartments at Lakeshore in Bristol; housed in the Copper Building, they’ll be some of the best connected homes in the area, with a wealth of transport routes available to residents.

So, if you’re thinking of moving into the new homes on offer, check out our rundown of the local transport offering; you can also check out our general top tips for the area here.

    Lakeshore, Bristol

    So, where is Lakeshore?

Lakeshore is in Hartcliffe in South Bristol; just three miles from the city centre and just three miles from Temple Meads train station.

    Can I get a bus?

Yup. From January 2019 a new metrobus transport route will run just by the development; the M1 service, operated by Bristol Community Transport, will run from Hengrove to Cribbs Causeway, calling at Broadmead, the city centre, Bedminster and Inns Court.

Cycle from Lakeshore to Bristol city centre

I’m a keen cyclist, can I get around on two wheels?

Bristol is reknowned as one of the most bike friendly cities in the UK. The Malago Greenway Loop is a protected cycle path – a 3.5 mile route taking you straight to Queen’s Square in the centre of the city. Its safe, easy to use and should encourage even the most reluctant cyclist back on to two wheels.

What about my train commute to work?

There are three train stations within easy access of Lakeshore, with Parson Street and Bedminster just a mile or two away. And of course there’s Bristol Temple Meads itself, which takes commuters to London in just over 1.5 hours.

Hengrove Mounds Wildlife Park, just minutes from Lakeshore

What if I commute by car?

The well-connected South Bristol Link Road – which opened last year – runs right by Lakeshore – making congested roads a thing of the past.

And what about when I’m jetting off on my holidays?

Bristol airport is a mere 18 minutes away from Lakeshore.
