Flawd to open at Mansion House

    06 September 2021
A 2 minute read by Joseph Otway

From the team behind Higher Ground, Flawd will focus on natural, low intervention wines and local beer. Following a successful series of pop-ups at Pollen Bakery in August, it will open in a permanent location in the burgeoning New Islington neighbourhood in September 2021. Joseph Otway, co-owner, tells us more…

“Flawd will focus on small-scale wine producers with a constantly changing wine list encouraging curiosity and enabling discovery. The aim is to make natural wine approachable to anyone and everyone and we’re creating a space in which customers can share bottles with friends.

The team behind Flawd, coming soon to New Islington

We’ll have both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as functioning as a take-away bottle shop, making it the perfect addition to Manchester’s already booming natural wine scene. We’ll be serving plates of British cheese, charcuterie from the award-winning Curing Rebels based in Brighton and produce from partner farm Cinderwood Market Garden in Cheshire.

Ultimately, we just want to open a neighbourhood wine bar for the growing New Islington community; to create a space for people to drink great wine, relax and have fun. We look forward to welcoming everyone from next week!”

More new businesses are coming soon to Mansion House at New Islington Marina

Set in Manchester’s New Islington neighbourhood, Flawd is the ideal destination for an after work drink, an aperitivo before dinner, or a few drinks before a night out in surrounding neighbourhoods Ancoats or the Northern Quarter. It will open in September.
