General enquiries

We are Urban Splash

We make places to live, places that other people overlook. We turn old buildings worth saving into new buildings worth loving.

We are property developers with a difference - in fact we are a regeneration company. We’re not just here to rip it up and start again. We revive buildings with a consideration for the past, present and the future. We know any redevelopment is about more than just bricks and mortar. It’s about enlightened design, creating new communities and enhancing lifestyles; it’s about building places that work for people.

To get a taste of some of the lovely buildings we have done visit urbansplash.co.uk.

This is Saxton

A place to live. 410 amazing apartments, beautiful inside and out.

Two structures built 50 years ago. We’re celebrating their jubilee by giving them a new lease of life. The community around Saxton has been growing for 50 years too and it’s good and strong. This is your new neighbourhood. Stunning homes, in a born again building, carved from the landscape, surrounded by nature, tamed and formal, lush and overflowing, and at the heart of one of our greatest cities.

The park

Probably the biggest private garden in Leeds.

We like a garden. Wherever possible we love to make use of the space that surrounds. Places to meet. Snooze. Read. Picnic. Feel at home. And at Saxton we’ve created a magical space so you can live as much outdoors as you do in. Six acres of space: terraces, rolling lawns, wild meadows, gentle banks, orchards, tall, green canopies. Interesting materials too, like slate, concrete, metals. Slugs, snails, bugs and birdlife. Plus plenty of the green stuff. Just like the countryside, only in the city.

The allotments

Allotments are the most beautiful things in the world. Can you dig it?

They’re bushels, heaps, soil, earth. Rows of this and patches of that. Prize marrows, super pumpkins in wheelbarrows. Carrots, leeks, apples and pears. A sea of different colours. All growing. All alive. And people. People growing, trimming, cutting, sowing. People sitting, brewing, watering, smiling, chatting. Safe in the knowledge that they’ve found something secret. A place to grow their own. A little piece of paradise. So at Saxton, we thought we’d leave you some space to grow. Your own shed. Your own patch. They’re mini-allotments, five metres square. Alittlements, if you will.

Central Square

We’re well connected. Central Square links Saxton’s two buildings. It runs above the valley, it’s where everyone meets, takes the air, collects their post, and stops for a chat.

And it’s made from the same solid stuff. The texture of Saxton, the rough and the smooth, goes down one wall, across Central Square, and up the other. Central Square makes Saxton’s two buildings a whole.

The valley

We’re digging down.

Between Saxton’s two buildings, we’re creating the valley. This is a dramatic linear space that meets you as you open the curtains in the morning. It’s also a place to park your car. Don’t think it will be a sea of metal, though. This car park is alive too: plants growing everywhere, so that this is more park than car park. And there’s a state-of-the-art sustainable urban drainage too, or suds for short. Suds means that rainwater drains naturally into the ground. This cuts the risk of flooding in urban areas and is nicer for all concerned.

The avenue

We’re walking this way.

The avenue runs from Saxton through the neighbourhood and towards town. Stay on these roads and you’ll be in the city in a snip. We’ve put people first, laying a wide boardwalk, so this is strolling territory. Cars heading into the valley to park up are limited to one way, then spat out the other side. At the top of the avenue, we’ve made an entrance. A clever new gate lets cars in. A pedestrian bridge takes you up to Central Square, on foot. This entrance even changes colour with the different seasons. It’s a warm welcome home.

Hello Leeds

Leeds has shopping and nightlife. Spectacular Victorian arcades. Super cool independent boutiques. Vintage this. High Street that. And department store galore. Leeds has bars. Hundreds of them. Leeds is as much alive at night as in the day.

Leeds has food. It’s the birthplace of Harry Ramsden’s, so should you fancy feasting on poisson et pommes frites, you can. But they do posh too. Anthony’s, Simply Heathcote’s and Pal’s should amuse your bouche. Grub’s up.

Leeds has architecture. Victorian civic pride and lush modern buildings. The stately homes, the grandiose gardens, the town hall, the Corn Exchange, the classy and glassy arcades. It’s quite a sight.

Lots and lots of the best reasons for living in Leeds are right on Saxtons doorstep. The epicentre of shopping heaven – 10 minutes away. En route is Kirkgate Market – that’s fresh market products 5 minutes from home. The Calls, Corn Exchange, West Yorkshire Playhouse – all within moments. When it’s time to escape the city, you’re about 20 minutes from the Yorkshire Dales.
