We want to give everyone the chance to own their very own home. There are many ways to live in our vibrant communities and working together with the Homes and Communities Agency we can now offer you the opportunity to buy your own Funky & Affordable home through FirstBuy. Same funky apartment with everything you would expect from an Urban Splash home… but more affordable if you can't quite manage to buy outright just yet.
FirstBuy is a government backed initiative funded by the Homes and Communities Agency, to help you get your foot on the housing ladder. With FirstBuy you can own your home for as little as 80% of the value. With prices starting from £89,600* at Chips!
If you are eligible, you could get an interest- free equity loan (funded by the Government and Urban Splash) for up to 20% of the value of the property. You will need to fund the other 80% through a combination of mortgage and savings. Usually this would be 5% deposit from your savings and 75% mortgage. Your eligibility for FirstBuy will be assessed by the HomeBuy Agent who acts on behalf of the government.

Can I buy through FirstBuy?
The good news is that it's available to a really broad audience, the main criteria being that:
- You/your household has an annual income of less than £60,000 (let's face it, who doesn't!)
- You are in permanent employment
- You currently own no other properties
