The significant deal will see Loungers open its "Seco Lounge" in Mills Bakery, the third building at the Yard to be converted by Urban Splash. The company hopes that the deal will spark a new wave of interest from culinary stars from around the South West, with a number of enquiries already in from other restaurants, chefs and cooking schools.
Urban Splash Associate Director Emily Jones said: "We've reached a really pivotal point at the Yard; firstly we had the build up of the residential community in the Clarence and Brewhouse buildings but the completion of Mills Bakery has brought a surge of commercial interest which now appears to be evolving specifically into culinary interest.
"The stunning waterfront location, Grade I listed surroundings and historical aspects of this scheme means its an ideal base for leisure operators who will benefit not only from the established community already on site but from the increasing numbers of visitors strolling through the transformed scheme."
Loungers will join the increasing commercial community at Royal William Yard, with other current deals completed with marketing agency
Bluestone 360, architects
HLM and the
University of Plymouth.
Concluded Emily: "We are delighted to welcome Loungers to the scheme and to add something new for residents, occupiers and visitors."
