Stubbs Mill is a small but beautiful building next to the Ashton Canal, firmly fixed in the heart of New Islington, with a historic past forged from the industrial revolution.

Formerly a machine works making and assembling machinery for the surrounding cotton mills in Ancoats. Originally this was home to the manufacturing company of Joseph Stubbs, that specialised in making textile machinery.

Stubbs Mill complex was constructed between 1880 - 1930. We are working with Architects SixTwo to transform the existing building, reinventing the space to create unique offices.

A character space with a raw industrial finish - exposed steel beams, brickwork & original machinery. A striking North lit roof, fantastic 4m ceiling heights & feature glazing - designed to maximise natural light throughout the building.

It's incredibly well located: three minutes’ walk from New Islington Metrolink station, 10 minutes’ walk along the canal to Piccadilly Station and close to regional and national public transport networks. There is also a City Car Club situated nearby at Chips.

Its surrounding neighbourhood - New Islington - is undergoing a rapid transformation, with several schemes starting on site in 2015. When complete this will deliver a new school, new housing by Urban Splash and apartments to rent by Manchester Life.

Due for completion in Summer 2016, Stubbs will deliver up to 27,500 sq ft of raw commercial loft space, with units available to let from 2,500- 27,500 sq ft. The scheme will offer fitted workspaces with superfast broadband connection; a full height atrium with lift; ‘3rd space’ break out zones with tea points; washrooms and shower facilities on every floor; 49 parking spaces; bicycle storage; and external landscaped areas - including a private courtyard. Units will be available to rent on a short form lease basis with flexible terms.

The redundant warehouses and mills of Manchester provide great opportunities for creatives to set up and house their businesses. This type of space is exciting; original, great value and, most of all, well located.

Providing commercial space for creative start-ups is where Urban Splash began. Join an array of leading digital, design & creative agencies who have set up home in some of our surrounding buildings.

We’ve been delivering stunning regeneration schemes in Manchester since the early 1990’s. Each building is unique in character, quirky & developed for modern uses. Our workspaces are testament not only to the individuality of our approach and architecture, but also to the fantastic businesses in our buildings.
